A great deal of effort can be put into the start up of any business – this is particularly so with today’s instant society where we have an idea and whizz bang, it has to be the next big thing on the high street, or village yard. In the old days, new products or services were advertised through a professional agency. They would use an in-house photographer and copy writer who would do the words. The agency ruled the roost when it came to the publication of materials in business magazines and newspaer advertorials. A company I worked at some years ago also retained a press agency specifically to take care of the correspondence and media activity of the time. We used to have little press cuttings sent to us – batches of them every six months, just to show what was being said in articles about us and our products.
